Under longstanding rules, top Queensland parliamentary and judicial figures are allowed to remain “Honourable” provided they meet certain criteria and formally apply to the government of the day.

After considering applications received since the October election, Premier David Crisafulli recommended Governor Jeannette Young add 11 names to the official list.

On March 7, the list was updated to include Miles, Grace Grace, Shannon Fentiman, Mick de Brenni, Meaghan Scanlon, Mark Ryan, Leeanne Enoch, Di Farmer, Mark Furner, Glenn Butcher, Leanne Linard, as well as former judge Peter Applegarth.

Former Labor minister and speaker Curtis Pitt was added to the list the day before the election, while former colleages Mark Bailey and Craig Crawford were added a year ago.

State parliament resumes today, ahead of the release of the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games review next week.
