Davina McCall has wowed fans with a transformation, making her totally unrecognisable from her usual brunette self.

The Big Brother host returns as a panellist on The Masked Singer UK this series, sitting alongside Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan, and Maya Jama, while Joel Dommett is back in his vibrant suits as presenter.

Love Island host Maya replaces pop star Rita Ora after four years as a judge, but something about Davina’s new look is very Rita-esque.

Newly released promo pictures for the upcoming series show the judges in their finery, with Joel taking centre stage in pink, Jonathan in bright green, and Maya looking stunning in an ab-baring leather look.

As for Davina, she’s ditched her raven locks and gone for a blonde pixie cut, as well as a sweeping fringe.

The Million Pound Drop presenter, 55, looks worlds away from the ITV icon we’ve taken to our hearts, standing confidently with hands on her hips and sporting an eye-catching animal print ensemble.

After the group shot began circulating online, fans all had the same reaction as they were taken aback by Davina’s image.

X user moonies_XP wrote: ‘I didn’t even realise that was davina omg’.

Hyping her up, Alexpol71 wrote: ‘okay Davina pop off’.

Meanwhile, sl88animation said her hair looks ‘amazing’ and d_a_v_e_m_a joked that she is ‘serving a long-lost Slater family member from EastEnders’.

That wasn’t the only EastEnders comparison, as several viewers quipped that her new do appears to have been inspired by Shirley Carter, while others couldn’t help but feel like she was cosplaying as Rita.

‘Nice to see Davita McOra on the panel x’, quipped alexanderls3.

Rita, who has appeared on the programme since it began in 2020, will not be returning to The Masked Singer this year as she now appears on the US version in place of Nicole Scherzinger.

Filmed earlier this year, the next series will feature another bunch of incredible costumes while the nation puts their detective hats on to decipher the clues and suss out the identities of each celebrity underneath.

One masked character will eventually be crowned the winner, following in the footsteps of previous champions Danny Jones, Charlie Simpson, Natalie Imbruglia, Joss Stone, and Nicola Roberts.

Launching on ITV in the New Year, the sixth series airs after Davina underwent surgery following the discovery of a benign brain tumour during a health check.

Davina required a craniotomy to get it removed, but thankfully, the procedure went smoothly, and she is now taking the rest of the year to recover, her partner has revealed.

Boyfriend Michael Douglas has been updating fans via social media, sharing at the end of November that the star felt ‘quite tired at the moment’, explaining that she’ll be off work until mid-January to ‘recuperate’.

‘It’s been a very, very emotional and quite an incredible experience. We’re definitely out of the woods,’ he said.

The Masked Singer returns to ITV1 and ITVX on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 7pm.
