NRL 2025 LIVE: Roosters in front as Souths lose both halves to injury

The Rabbitohs force a dropout and Chad Townsend produces possibly the worst drop-kick seen in the NRL – it’s hooked around so much it’s eventually sailed backwards, to the far left of the field.

Souths get another full set on the Roosters’ try-line, and then there’s a set restart, so the Tricolours are getting plenty of goal-line defence practice here. But again they’re up to the task, Jye Gray’s last tackle grubber crashes into the legs of Roosters forward Siua Wong and is picked up by Dom Young – who runs away unchallenged to score!

The Rabbitohs players had all but stopped – was Young offside? – but the referee awards the try. Turns out that yes, Young was in front of Wong so play is called back. Can Souths crack the Roosters’ defence this time?
