A WA woman, 75, has been accused of murdering an 88-year-old woman she was sharing a room with at a retirement village.

WA Police allege emergency services received reports of a woman located deceased inside a Port Kennedy retirement village on Olivenza Crescent around 4.10am on Friday.

“The victim and accused in this matter were known to one another and have shared a room in the retirement village for four days,” a police spokesman said.

Homicide squad officers have since charged the 75-year-old woman with one count of murder.

She is due to appear before the Northbridge Magistrates Court on Sunday.
